We have spent the last few days back in Gainesville, GA for more training before boarding our flight for Costa Rica this morning. During this time, our squad of 18 amazing women were asked by our squad leaders and squad mentor to pray and think of a vision statement for our squad to work towards over the course of this next year. We spent a couple of days reflecting over these questions to come up with a vision for our squad. What is something I want to receive from God this year? What does this world need? What component of Christ do I have that I can offer to my team? What characteristics of God do I want to see in my life? After much reflection, much prayer, and much brainstorming and discussion, we came up with this statement.

“We are women secure in our identity in Christ, who reveal His holiness by walking in our unique authority to fight for freedom and empower others to do the same.”

How powerful! A statement that gives me God goosebumps! For the next 11 months, our focus and vision is to be women who KNOW God. To be women who are so rooted in our identity in Christ, that we are able to be in tune with the Holy Spirit to move when He says move and to act when He says act. To be women who fight for freedom from sin, expectation, anxiety, shame, worry, or any oppression from the devil.

Acts 10:38 says, “even Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed him with the Holy Spirit and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed by the devil; for God was with him.”

I pray we are women who are filled and anointed with the power of the Holy Spirit. I pray this year is a year that we allow God to reveal Himself and His holiness to us. I pray that we are women who walk in our own freedom that is only found in Christ and that we are able to share the Gospel to empower others to find that same freedom.

As I sit and write this on the plane, I can’t help but think about how incredible of an opportunity this is. We have no idea what doors the Lord is about to open. We have no idea the ways in which the Spirit is going to move over this next 11 months. I can’t imagine what the plane ride home is going to be like this time next year. May we take this opportunity to lean in to God this year. May we be a part of the ways in which He is ALREADY moving in the places we are going.

Wow, my heart is so full!

Landing in Costa Rica!

  3. As I read this thoughts come to me about my journey to Costa Rica. It was on the plane as I was in the word that He spoke to me. I will share at another time, for now I will say always remember that Jesus defeated satin on the Cross and he has no power over you except what you allow him to have. Christ has given us all me need to live a life of joy. The ticket is to be grateful in all things, remember He knows what you need before you ask. Just be thankful and the Power of His spirit will rise up in you. Have a great trip and thanks for sharing keep us posted. In His Love!
